What shall I give my hubby for Father's Day? Can't get him any clothing, he'd rather choose his own. He's somewhat picky with his colors and the feeling of the material against his skin.
He's into photography, which I don't know anything about it and for a couple of Father's Day now I've been saying, "get yourself something for your photography supplies on Amazon". It is so different if I hand him something I bought that he has no idea about.
This year, I made him a mini album. I meant for the mini to house pictures of just the two of us.
The paper I used is a Deja Views 8x8 mini stack.
I think I recycled 10 business envelopes. I love the simplicity of the design - what a wonderful world.
Each envelope serves as a pocket for more photo mats.
Sample pictures that I included in this mini just to show placement of photos.
I bound the pages using my Zutter bind-it-all
I just added my daughter's picture to show that this is a frame and a photo can be inserted from the top.
Little tags within little pockets
Fin.... the end. I just love this part and I hate to cover it up with anything else!
The design was inspired by Marion Smith.

A Wedding Shower Sample Favor
My BFF's daughter got engaged! Now we are talking about making wedding shower and wedding party favors. We came up with making a mini album made of just 4 pages of 7 x 5 chipboard and 2 pocket envelopes between the inner front cover & the first page, and the inner back cover and last page.
Unfortunately, after cutting more than 10 sets and covering the chip board with patterned papers, my friend said her daughter wasn't fond with the idea. She said it was too much work for us and besides people she knows who will get invited to the wedding shower or the wedding are not scrapbookers. But we have plenty of time if we started now (the wedding won't be till Fall of 2012) and besides people don't have to be scrapbookers to own a hand-made mini album. Oh well, so we stopped production, but here is the sample I started:

This is the "almost-finished" mini album sample I made. 4 chipboard pages
including the front and back covers.
The second page is made out of an envelope I covered with patterned paper with
a tag insert (see below)
The tag, which would also be used as a photo mat is shown here. I used
one of Marth Stewart's punchers for the top edge.
Back side of the envelope pocket showing the back top edge of the tag/photo
mat insert. I just love that punch!
I placed a trifold on the 3rd page. The flap is held down by the blue flower.
Flowers are by Prima; the leaves are punched using Martha Stewart's leaf puncher.
This is the inner section of the tri-fold. both may be used to hold 2 more photos
or one photo at the top and journaling at the bottom.
This is the second envelope pocket with the tag or photomat
pulled out (see below)
This is the back part of the second envelope pocket.
The bottom portion is also edged using another Martha Stewart
puncher.
I plan to bind the mini with 3 key rings and tie pieces of bows and lace on each ring on the spine of the mini. That would be soooo cute!

A Junk Journal for Jessica
It seems that everyone is making a junk journal since the Smash Book came out. What is a smash book or a junk journal? When I was in high school, many, many moons ago, we made junk journals. But we didn't call them that. We called them scrapbooks. So different from the scrapbooks you see or make these days.
During my high school days, a scrapbook is exactly that - a notebook decorated with scraps of paper, pictures cut out from magazines, a torn page of a book, a few precious photographs, a greeting card, a small piece of paper with a message from someone who had a crush on you, a ticket stub, and anything else you could "smash" into that tiny notebook!
So here's Jessica, my husband's niece, who celebrated her birthday on January 1, who is in high school, and I am so absolutely sure she would love to have a junk journal... so I made her one and I called it Jessica's Junque Journal.
This journal is made up of different patterned papers, some new, and some from my old stash.

These two pages are from a magazine. I cut out the girl's face and put a tag behind it.
Jessica can cut out a picture of her face and put it there.
I included a few journaling tags where Jessica can write
her thoughts for the day.
A picture frame cut out from another magazine.
Jessica can insert her own picture behind the frame.
On the back page... a heat-embossed stamp for my
signature and date.
...and guess what.... Jessica absolutely loved it!!!!

Now There're Three
Christina and Stephanie always dressed alike. When Stephanie came to visit, Christina would dig up clothes that were similar with what Steph wore. Here Stephanie is wearing a set of Christina's clothes. Nikka, Steph's younger sister wanted to dress just like them, too. Luckily for her, Christina had another denim dress and purple shirt which she outgrew.

I love the purple butterfli I bought in the Philippines during my visit earlier this year. I wish I bought more! I just got about 8 different colors.

Joy
I just love this picture of 33-month old DS. In all of the the pictures taken of him at this time, he was holding a greeting card. He must have felt very special to receive a big one from us. It was like a very important treasure. It went wherever he went.
When I make a layout, I just keep on going, picking out the pieces from different ziploc bags until I am satisfied with what I have. I didn't have time to jot down the different scrapbooking supplies I used; nor will I have time to do so in the future. Mine is just to cut and glue and be happy I'm done with a page.

Amazed
These are baby pictures of DD when she was a couple of months old. DS and I looked for a baby hammock - something that we used to put little children in and swing them to sleep. We had those when we were kids back home in the Philippines. They were made of woven rattan. We couldn't find any within the Chicago area, so DS came up with this idea to tie each side of a baby carrier with a sturdy rope and hung each on the walls across the room. So there was this baby carrier suspended in the middle of the dining room in our apartment building.
DD loved it! She would be comfortably asleep a few minutes after we put her in it.
When DD's awake, she talks to her Disney mobile friends and tries to reach out to grab them. After sometime wriggling and gurgling in her make-shift hammock, not being able to reach the mobile above her, she starts to get impatient. That's the end of being in the hammock for her! Time to be in Mama's arms!

These are flowers I cut from a patterned DCWV paper. I applied glitter glue and that made them look fancy. The leaves were stamped and cut out. I crocheted the tiny pink flowers which I adhered in the center of the green cutouts. I then sewed pink pearls in the center of the crocheted flowers.
